Time to sit back and take a look back

Well I started my new year from SFO this year. It is almost a year now since I finished a chapter in my life and started a new one. (yeah I am talking about my dear company eInfochips)

It is one year and 3 days since I left my first job and started a hunting of the world. In that manner 2007 was quite a roller coaster ride.

First quarter of the year was quite uneventful though hectic. Moved half world across from my home, parents, family, childhood friends and my girlfriend. Still miss ya all. Stayed with my family for more than a week in more than about 3 years which was a unique experience for me. Now looking forward to same experience when I call my parents and girl friend here.

Second quarter of the year was quite good, by this time I was settled in my cozy life in Tacoma, WA. Met a cousin of mine whom I haven't met in years. Hey sis, thanks for all your support during my starting days here in US, if it wasnt for you it would have been much more difficult. Apart from that got many good friends like Sameer, Sandeep, Payal, Raghu, Eric, Adron, Jim, Jean, Anish, Jay to name a few. Project was good, things were going smooth and over all life was quiet and uneventful.

But as usual my peace doesnt last long. Started a business and got through many many things. Which has left scares all over me, and may remain there for years.

Then the third quarter came around and I was ready to make a jump from my job to new better paying opportunities. My immigration was an issue for all the employers who were not ready to shell out some money to sponsor my visa (which they are legally obliged to do). This time of the year was quite frustrating. Things will come into hands and then disappear just like that. Thanks Priya, you were a great help in that time.

Started reading about laws during this time, regarding immigration, consulting, finances etc. (Didn't want to pay for a lawyer). Finally got a break and an employer got ready to sponsor my visa without me paying any money. Thanks to Mr. Prashant and Mr. Gaurav for their unshakable trust in my and guiding me in this time. Though immigration services take all time in world to transfer the visa (yeah about 2 months, which is suppose to be 15 days job, dont blame them though)

And then came the fourth quarter, and things were ready to roll. All the fixes for fixes were in place. Started appearing for interviews and there we go, got a hit with a good company in Seattle. Said good bye to Tacoma and moved to new place, new life style and hope for a better future now.

Though the toughest part here was to say good bye to my team in Tacoma. Hey Jim I still remember our conversation when you pushed me to make my decision with an open offer in our smoking area :). Yeps that was the time and made the decision.

Thanks a lot Priyanka, Eric, Jim, Sameer, K.......(well that name is suppose to be secret), James, Harsh for making this year one of the most memorable years of my life.

PS:- I am also thinking to write about my this year in terms of post eInfochips way of my life. Some time soon.......
